Este blog tem menos de um ano - ainda sou uma novata nisto - mas desde que comecei "conheci" várias pessoas com o mesmo interesse e entusiasmo pela costura. Pessoas que me inspiram e que me fazem querer melhorar e fazer mais. Entre estas, encontra-se a Sara do blog Made by Sara. E foi a Sara que me apresentou este grupo de meninas, que para além do gosto pela costura têm em comum o gosto pela estética da costura japonesa. E foi também a Sara que teve a ideia e organizou esta  Japanese Sewing Week a primeira (de muitas, espero eu!). E por isso, OBRIGADA SARA!

This blog has less than a year - I am still a newcomer - but since then I've " met " several people with the same interest and enthusiasm for sewing. People who inspire me and make me want to improve and sew more. Among these is Sara from the blog Made by Sara. And it was Sara who introduced me to this group of ladies, who in addition to the love for sewing have in common the love  for Japanese aesthetics. Como disse, gosto muito da estética dos moldes japoneses, há qualquer coisa de simples, elegante e confortável que me encanta.

As I said, I love the Japanese aesthetics, there is a simplicity, relaxed elegance and that delights me.

 

Molde | Pattern

Para este Tour escolhi um projeto do primeiro livro japonês de costura que comprei, o Girls Style Book da  Tuttle Publishing (traduzido para Inglês), do qual já falei neste post.

O molde B, uma blusa/túnica com umas mangas lindas e uma renda a terminar a bainha foi o eleito, e é um dos meus preferidos deste livro (mas tenho mais alguns preferidos em "espera"). Já tinha usado estas mangas aqui e são a minha parte preferida!

A frente tem algumas pinças, que são de fácil construção e nas costas o tecido é franzido e fecha com um só botão, o que faz com que seja muito prático a vestir e despir e as crianças podem mexer-se à vontade - ótimo para brincadeiras.

Todos os moldes deste livro estão disponíveis nos tamanhos 2, 4, 6, 8 e 10 que correspondem a 100, 110, 120, 130 e 140 cm de altura, respetivamente.
 

Todos os projetos têm instruções, que não são muito detalhadas, mas como também têm diagramas com anotações sobre os passos a seguir torna-se simples (principalmente se se tem alguma experiência com costura). Incluem também as quantidades de todos os materiais necessários para cada uma dos tamanhos. Ah, e as medidas também estão em centímetros, o que facilita imenso :)

Atenção - os moldes não incluem margens de costura, mas os diagramas têm toda a informação do quanto acrescentar e onde. (Eu uso o truque dos dois lápis colados com fita cola).

 

For this Tour I chose a pattern from the first Japanese book  I bought the Girls Style Book  by Tuttle Publishing ( it´s translated into English), that I wrote about in this post.

The B pattern, a blouse/ tunic with beautiful puffed sleeves and laced trim used to finish the hem was the elected pattern, and is one of my favorites in the book ( but I have a few more favorites "on hold"). I Had used these sleeves before (here) and it's my favorite feature! The front has some pintucks  which are easy to construct and in the back the fabric is gathered and closes with only one button, which makes it very esay to dress and undress and children can play at ease.

All patterns in this book are available in sizes 2 , 4, 6 , 8 and 10 that correspond to 100, 110, 120, 130 and 140 cm of height, respectively.
 

All projects have instructions, which are not very detailed, but they also have diagrams with notes on how to do it so it´s easy to follow ando it (especially if you have some sewing experience). It also includes the amounts of all materials needed for each of the sizes. Oh, and the measures are also in centimeters, which makes it much easier :)

Attention - the patterns do not include seam allowence, but the diagrams have all the information on how much to add and where. (I use the trick of two pencils tied together with tape).

 

Alterações | Modifications

Fiz o tamanho 2 ( a minha filha tem quase 3 anos) e acho que assenta lindamente à Maria e ainda tem "espaço" para ela crescer - assim dá para a época toda e talvez também para o ano (?!). E como queria que a túnica fosse para usar agora - Outono/Inverno - fiz a manga comprida em vez de 3/4.

Até aqui tudo bem.

E depois decidi que queria acrescentar uma gola tipo peter pan... OMG!!! O que é que eu fui fazer!

Deveria ser uma coisa simples...certo? Errado! Decidi que a gola seria só na frente, a parte das costas ficaria igual. Mas não queira que o viés ficasse por cima da gola e tive que alterar a construção do decote e acrescentar mais 1 cm de valor de costura, para poder virar o viés para o interior e ficar "invisível". Até aqui parecia tudo bem, excepto que não contei com o pesponto para prender o viés no interior e só, quase com tudo pronto, verifiquei que tinha um problema - a GOLA, o pesponto tinha que ser por baixo da gola e esta já estava cosida no ombro. Tive que fazer o pesponto em várias partes, primeiro atrás, de um lado e depois do outro, e depois, por baixo da gola!! (Acho que ganhei alguns cabelos brancos com esta "invenção") E o cantinho da gola junto ao ombro teve que ser cosido à mão...

Mas já está, e ficou bem melhor do que eu estava à espera.

 

Portanto, se seguirem o molde à risca é ótimo e muito fácil de fazer e vai ficar bem, com certeza.

 

I did a size 2 (my daughter is almost 3 years old) and I think it fits beautifully on Mary and still has " room" for her to grow - hopefully she'll be able to wear it for this season and also next year (? !). This is a tunic to be weared in Autumn/Winter so I did a long sleeved instead of 3/4 one .

So far so good.

 

And then I decided I wanted to add a peter pan collar... OMG !!! What have I done!

It should be a simple thing ... right? Wrong! I decided that add the collar only in front, the back would stay the same. I didn´t want the neckline binding to be visible, so I changed the construction of the neckline and add another 1 cm seam allowence, in order to turn the binding to the wrong inside and make it "invisible". So far it seemed okay, except I didn't thought about how to do the top stitching on the binding, until I almost all set. Then I had a problem - the COLLAR, the stitching had to be under the collar and this was already sewn in the shoulder. I had to do the stitching in 3 parts, the back first: one side and then the other, and then, under the collar!! (I think I gained a few gray hairs with this "invention") And the part where the collar meets the shoulder had to be hand-stitched ...

It's ready, and it came out much better than I expected.

 So if you follow the instructions, this pattern it's very easy to sew and will surely look great.

 

 

Tecido | Fabric

O  tecido já tinha há algum tempo e foi-me oferecido por uma amiga. É um tecido que acho lindo pelas cores suaves e o estampado de flores pequeninas. É um algodão, de peso médio e bastante suave ao toque.

Para a bainha escolhi uma renda de malha num tom areia (??), que lhe dá um toque mais cozy e inverno.

 I have this fabric on my stash for some time now, it was offered to me by a friend. I love it, love the beautiful soft colors and the tiny flowers print. It is a medium weight cotton with a very soft touch. For the trim I chose a wool in the color sand (??), which gives it a more cozy and "winterish"  feel.

 

 

Por aqui a túnica faz sucesso e eu a-d-o-r-o estas mangas ;)

Over here it´s a hit and I l-o-v-e the sleeves ;)

* um colete :: a vest

E bom, a 2ª peça do ano está pronta...

Decidi fazer este colete assim que o vi aqui . Adorei-o. Depois já o vi aqui e também aqui!  Estes são 3 blogs de costura portugueses de que gosto muito (entre outros), o primeiro só conheci recentemente, mas os outros dois já conhecia e ia seguindo.

Gosto muito de coletes para crianças pequenas, acho que são uma peça quentinha e confortável e que os deixa mexer à vontade - tudo uma criança precisa! - e este ainda por cima é giríssimo e o molde é grátis. Perfeito! (ou quase...).

O modelo é da France Duval-Stalla e está disponível para download e vem também com instruções de construção e esquemas, até aqui perfeito, o único senão (para mim) é que está em francês, e o meu francês é muito fraquinho. Para quem percebe francês ou tem muita experiência em costura (e não precisa de seguir instruções) não tem senão.

 

Tive que recorrer várias vezes ao tradutor do Google, que não foi grande ajuda, a maioria das coisas não traduzia! Mas lá consegui decifrar mais ou menos as instruções  e com a ajuda, preciosa, dos diagramas e alguma improvisação pelo meio, fiz o colete.

Esta foi a parte mais complicada e demorou mais tempo - perceber as instruções. Fazer o colete é bastante simples e foi rápido.

Não fiz praticamente nenhuma alteração ao modelo original, os tecidos não são os sugeridos, optei por bombazine para a parte de fora e pêlo para o interior e fiz uma pequena alteração na manga - não fiz as linhas paralelas pespontadas porque achei que na bombazine não precisava nem ficava bem.

 

Escolhi o tamanho 3, a minha filha tem 2 anos, mas como é para vestir por cima de outras coisas e não convinha ficar muito justo achei melhor escolher o 3, mas devia ter escolhido o 4! O colete serve--lhe, mas se fosse um bocadinho mais largo e mais comprido melhor...

E estou muito contente com o resultado! Excepto com o pesponto a toda a volta... que não ficou bem como eu queria :(

And well , the 2nd piece of the year is ready ...

I decided to make this vest that I saw here and loved it. After, I also saw it here and here! These are 3 Portuguese sewing blogs that I like (among others), the first just met recently, but the other two I already knew and was following.

I love vests for small children , I think they are a warm and comfortable piece and let them move at will - everything a child needs ! - And this is on top beautiful and the pattern is free. That'S Perfect! (or almost ...).

 

The model is the France Duval-Stalla and is available for download and also comes with building instructions and diagrams, so far so good, the only drawback (for me) is that it is in French, and my French is pretty weak. For those who uderstand French or have experience in sewing (and need not follow instructions) it has no drawback. I had to resort several times to the Google translator, who was not much help , most things were not translated ! But I managed to understand instructions and with the precious help of diagrams and some improvisation in the middle, I made ​​the vest.

 

This was the tricky part and what took me longer - get the instructions . Make the vest was quite simple and quick .

I did almost no change to the original pattern: the tissues are not the suggested ones, I chose corduroy to the outside and fur for linning and made a small change in the sleeve - did not do parallel lines stitched in because I thought it didn't look good in corduroy.

 

I chose the size 3 , my daughter is 2 years old, but because it's to wear over other clothes I thought it was best to choose the size 3. Now I realised I should have chosen the 4!

The vest fits her, but if it was a little wider and longer it would be better...

And I am very happy with the result ! Except with the stitching all the way around ... that was turned out the way I'd like it to be :(

Antes de mais a novidade: o blog vai passar a ser bilingue - português e inglês.

Pois é, essa era uma ideia que tinha desde o início e que resolvi pôr de lado porque nem sequer sabia se ALGUÉM ia querer ler o que eu escrevia ou ver o que fazia... Mas se calhar até há, para surpresa e grande felicidade minha :) 

E  se calhar em inglês também ...vamos ver! E por favor, perdoem-me as falhas em inglês, prometo fazer o meu melhor.

Agora o tricot...

Fiz estas duas peças, uma gorro e uma gola, para a minha filha. Duas peças muito simples, porque se em costura tenho pouca experiência em tricot não tenho nenhuma, mas conto com a ajuda preciosa da minha avó que é uma máquina a tricotar e faz coisas lindas e é ela quem me ensina.

Escolhi uma cor que adorei, um rosa velho, que se pode lavar à máquina (importante!) e que é quentinha, super macia e confortável de usar e as agulhas são 61/2mm - emprestadas da minha avó.

Basicamente são dois retângulos em ponto liga- o ponto mais simples de fazer- o da gola é 44x18 cm e o do gorro um pouco mais comprido 48x18cm, que depois são cosidos, com agulha de coser lã pela largura de maneira a fazer um círculo. E a gola já está, é só dobrar ao meio (ou como se quiser) e usar.

O gorro depois de cosido para fazer um circulo, é apanhado por uma das partes e cosido, como se fosse fazer um franzido muito muito apertado, e cose-se. Nesse ponto cosi um pompom, feito à moda antiga com dois círculos cortados em cartão. O meu foi  feito com cerca de 7,5cm de diâmetro, porque gosto de ver um pompom grande.

As medidas que usei foram tiradas da cabeça da minha mini modelo e de maneira a que o gorro não ficasse demasiado justo nem comprido e a gola, de forma a entrar facilmente pela cabeça mas que ficasse junto ao pescoço.

A Maria gosta muito do gorro, especialmente do pompom. Da gola nem por isso.

Tirar fotografias à minha mini modelo tem-se revelado bem complicado mas lá consegui algumas...

First the news : the blog is going to be bilingual - Portuguese and English.

Well, this was an idea that I had from the beginning and decided to put aside because I didn't even know if ANYONE would want to read what I wrote or see what I was doing... But maybe there is, to my surprise and great happiness :) And maybe in English also... we'll see ! And please forgive me the flaws in English, promise to do my very best .

 

Now the knitting...

I made these two pieces, one bonnet and a collar for my daughter. Two simple pieces, because I have almost non experience in knitting, but can count on the precious help of my grandmother who is a wonderful knitter and makes beautiful things.

I chose a color that I loved, an "old pink", that can be  machine washed (important!)and that is warm, soft and comfortable to wear and the needles are 61/2mm - borrowed from my grandmother. Basically it's two rectangles in the simplest stitch - garter stitch - the collar is 44x18cm and bonnet slightly longer 48x18cm, which are then sewn with woll needle by the width in order to make a circle. And the collar is ready, just fold in half (or as desired) and use.

The bonnet, after seamed to make a circle , is caught by one of the parts and sewn , as if making a very very tight frown , and sewed up. At this point I atached a pompom, made ​​the old way with two circles cut into hard paper. Mine was done with about 7.5cm diameter, because I like to see a large pompom. The measures used were taken from the head of my mini model and so that the bonnet wouldn't be tight or too long, and the collar in order to easily enter through the head but to stay close at the neck.

Maria is very fond of the bonnet, especially the pompom.  The collar not so much. Taking pictures to my mini model has proved very complicated but there was some "good ones"...

* A aventura do macaco...

A primeira peça de 2015 e do blog está pronta e é.... um macaquinho!

 

Disse no post anterior que para mim o mais complicado é decidir e é verdade! E também disse que a partir daí era mãos à obra (adoro esta expressão!) e tudo se tornava mais fácil e fluía... mas desta vez não foi. Não foi assim tão fácil nem fluiu tudo tão bem.

Eu tinha o molde em papel de um macaquinho para tamanho 2 anos (que foi tirado por mim numa aula de costura que fiz há mais de um ano, mas que nunca tinha chegado a fazer) e queria que fosse para usar ainda este ano, antes que deixasse de servir o tamanho. Mas era só, não tinha nenhum tipo de indicações ou esquemas de como deveria juntar as peças todas... mesmo assim achei que não seria difícil. E comecei.

Escolhi a bombazina azul mais escura (dos tecidos novos) e como o macaquinho tinha um folho achei que ficaria interessante um tecido com um padrão que desse alguma cor e encontrei um "resto" de tecido que tinha cá em casa e que ficava mesmo bem, mas não sozinho. Então fiz 2 folhos um de bombazine azul, mais curto e que ficava por cima, e o outro do tecido florido e cosi os dois para que fosse mais fácil e trabalhar.

Cosi as frentes uma à outra e fiz o mesmo com as costas. Até aqui tudo bem, nada de muito complicado.  A seguir resolvi coser o folho à frente e o outro à parte de trás e depois cosi ia coser as laterais. Entretanto apercebi-me que queria que o folho ficasse solto a toda a volta, e não preso nas costuras laterias e que tinha de coser as laterais antes dos folhos... Toca a desmanchar os folhos já cosidos e a coser as laterias primeiro.

Cosi o folho, frente e costas um ao outro e quando o fui coser ao corpo do macaquinho, E SÓ NESSA ALTURA, é que me apercebi que tinha que ter um forro caso contrário ficariam a aparecer as costuras interiores!!!!!!!! Como é que é possível que já tivesse cosido os folhos antes e não tivesse visto isto...

Bom, só havia uma coisa a fazer, arranjar mais um restinho do tecido para fazer o forro, claro que não dava para forrar tudo, mas pelo menos na parte do peito... pois mas não dava. Tive que dividir o folho em 4 partes, 2 meias frentes e 2 meias costas... mas deu! Cosi o forro ao corpo e finalmente coloquei as alças no sitio (foram cosidas junto com o folho) e cosi a parte da frente e as duas laterias e quando ia colocar as alças das costas no sitio... tinha colocado uma das alças da frente ao contrário (e tanto que eu olhei para confirmar que estavam as duas para o mesmo lado...)

Desmanchei e voltei a coser direito e depois sim, fluiu e correu tudo bem! Também já só faltava coser o folho nas costas e colocar o elástico na perna :)

Mesmo com tantas atribulações fiquei muito contente com o resultado, gosto muito do macaquinho e aqui por casa foi aprovado.
